The second batch of research projects of Suzhou Quanshu started with two works to fill the blank of Suzhou historical and cultural research.

Su Baoxun (Su Bao Rong Media reporter Jiang Feng intern Fei Yuan) Yesterday afternoon, the second batch of four research projects of Suzhou Quanshu compilation project started, namely, the compilation of Suzhou Silk History, the compilation of Suzhou Education History, the collation of Songling Literature and the collation of Six Kinds of Ming and Qing Dynasties. Among the research projects initiated by this project, two books, Suzhou Silk History and Suzhou Education History, have filled the gaps in the study of Suzhou history and culture, and many ancient books are checked for the first time.

It has been playing a unique role in Suzhou's social and economic development for a long time, and has played an irreplaceable role in shaping urban characteristics and forming regional culture. In the long historical development process, the sericulture and silk production in Suzhou area has reached the peak of world attention and occupied a leading position in China and even in the world for a long time. As a historical work of Suzhou silk, Suzhou Silk History will systematically clarify the historical evolution of Suzhou silk production from ancient times to the present, deeply explore the connotation, social influence and historical position of Suzhou silk culture, and try to explore the inheritance and development of Suzhou silk culture in the contemporary era. With a length of about 1.2 million words, it fully reflects the richness, systematicness, integrity and uniqueness of Suzhou silk history.

Suzhou has always been well-developed in education and rich in humanities. In history, there have been 50 top scholars and more than 1,500 scholars, and there are 117 contemporary Suzhou academicians. The History of Suzhou Education is the first educational history in Suzhou. It will systematically summarize the overall situation of Suzhou's educational development from ancient times to 2020, including the political, economic, social and cultural background related to education and its influence on education, and the educational system, educational management, educational institutions and basic characteristics related to the educational discipline system.

In the early years of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty, Pan Changzhang, a young historian in Wujiang, was killed by the "Ming History Case", and Songling Literature was one of his works. In the thirty-second year of Kangxi (1693), Pan Lei, the younger brother of Pan Changzhang, arranged and engraved the Songling Literature and spread it to the world. Pan Changzhang originally planned to collect the poems of scholars in Songling in the past dynasties with the part of "Wen" and record the deeds of the sages in Songling with the part of "Xian", but before the collection was completed, he encountered a "Ming History Case". The existing "Songling Literature" only has a "dedication" part, which records the deeds of Wujiang celebrities from the Western Han Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty. This proofreading of Songling Literature will use Pan Lei's thirty-two-year edition of Kangxi (collected in Peking University Library) as the base copy, refer to the photocopies of Beijing Library's Rare Series of Ancient Books and the Continuation of Sikuquanshu, and compare them with the biographies of relevant figures in the official history. This is also the first time to proofread Songling Literature.

Suzhou is not only a famous literary country in history, but also an important literary town, especially in the Ming and Qing dynasties. There are many ancient books in the collection, which is one of the largest local documents in Suzhou. The six collections of Ming and Qing Dynasties were collated by Liu Feng's Collection of Liu Ziwei, Wen Zhenmeng's Collection of Medicine Garden, Zhang Cai's Collection of Poems in Zhiweitang, Qian Lucan's Collection of Poems by Mr. Qian Xiangling, Collected Works by Yuan Sha, Collected Works by Diao Yun Zhai, Unembed Manuscripts by Yuan Sha, Pan Lei's Complete Works of Sui Chutang and Peng Zhaosun's Small Works. The authors of the six anthologies selected this time are all famous historical and cultural figures in Suzhou, who have made their mark in history with their literature, achievements or virtue.

As a strategic major cultural construction project in Suzhou, the compilation project of Suzhou Quanshu was started in July last year, which is divided into four major topics: bibliographic arrangement, ancient books, modern books and Suzhou research works. At present, the bibliographic arrangement has achieved phased results, and the first and second batches of books published by Suzhou Quanshu have been published in Fu Zi.
