Fishbridge Craftsman ‖ Qi Taiqing-Rural Thin Blacksmith

  Qi taiqing

Qi Taiqing, born in October 1918, is a native of Xiushui Hezi Village, Xiushui Hezi Town, with a primary school education. Qi Taiqing was born handy, and when he was young, he relied on weaving to support his family. In 1958, Xiushui Hezi Commune took a fancy to his hand-made ability and recruited him to the commune comprehensive factory to do thin iron processing, bicycle repair, water welding and tin welding. In the later period, the social enterprise was in recession. With his unique skills, he pressed down a house on the east side of the tile house of Xiushui Hezi old station, started his own stove, hung up a signboard and started to operate independently, becoming the earliest individual craftsman in Xiushui Hezi, and was nicknamed "Qi Thin Iron".

In all villages in the town, including neighboring towns, there are customers of Qi Taiqing (often contacting related households). Qi Taiqing has processed countless pots, kettles, kettles, small hand-operated hair dryers, etc. Those who go door-to-door to repair pots, trap pots, and sharpen scissors and kitchen knives are afraid to take up his work for fear of losing their skills.

In the seventies and eighties of last century, whoever had a bicycle was no less than a car today. In Hezi Village, Xiushui, he hung a broken bicycle ring on his thin iron shop, which means repairing bicycles concurrently. If your car is out of gas, go to his place and find your own windpipe, and then leave. He will not charge you in silence. But when you ask him how much it costs after the gas, he will say, "Where to put it?": If you say, "No, he will give you a blank look and say go!" He knew that it was all difficult at that time, and the emergency did not save the poor.

In 1966, Xiushui Hezi Commune established the Armed Guards, and invited Qi Taiqing to join it. He was bold and cautious, studied deeply, looked up the information, and soon studied the formula of penetrating powder. The mines and grenades he designed and manufactured had strong explosive power with accurate data. Later, his research materials were requisitioned by the military factory, and he himself served as a special ordnance officer in the armed forces department. In 1970, Xiushui Hezi Sulfuric Acid Plant was in the initial stage of its establishment, and there were no workshops and mechanical equipment. Qi Taiqing led six people to take samples in other places. After returning, he cut plates, rolled them and welded them himself. In the case of shortage of funds and materials, he overcame many difficulties and lasted 16 days and nights, and finally completed the construction of the blast furnace and successfully ignited it. On the day when the first batch of qualified sulfuric acid was produced in the sulfuric acid plant, Qi Taiqing's craftsman name was truly recognized and became a historical hero of the sulfuric acid plant. Later, the sulfuric acid plant and the phosphate fertilizer plant were officially docked, and Qi Taiqing made them take fewer detours and saved a lot of money.

In 1979, at the beginning of reform and opening up, all units released great vitality. At that time, the dean of the town hospital saw that the vertical water-boiling boiler in the field was more economical and efficient than boiling water in a large pot, but the hospital had no money to buy it, so he found a way to find it. According to the dean's description, Qi Taiqing drew drawings, calculated data and cut plates. A few days later, a standing thin iron boiler was built, which saved fuel, saved time and showed the water level, and sounded the horn to remind the water to turn on. At that time, the town hospital saved this part of the money and built a boiler boiling room for the boiler. Qi Taiqing also melted lead into plates and made it into a soju boiler, which created the first set of wine production line for Xiushuihe Brick Factory. The burnt wine cellar is rich in fragrance and delicious.

Beekeepers cutting honey was a technical job in those days, and ordinary old beekeepers could handle it well. It is not good to cut honey and there are many residues, which is not conducive to bees to continue to make honey. Once a beekeeper talked with Qi Taiqing, the speaker had no intention, but the listener had a heart. According to the principle of riding a bicycle wheel to throw mud around in rainy days, he made a centrifugal honey throwing machine in his spare time in a few days, just like today's washing machine, which has exquisite workmanship, reasonable structure and thorough honey cutting. The beekeeper is grateful to Qi Taiqing and sends him several bottles of new honey every year. In January 2009, Qi Taiqing died of illness at the age of 91.
