Recently, the Chengdu Museum's special exhibition "Chinese Characters China-Chinese Civilization between Founder" was officially launched. This special exhibition mainly talks about the origin, evolution and development of Chinese characters. Among them, two precious "Ba Shu Tu Yu Yin" unearthed in Pujiang County, as representatives of the southwest local characteristic writing system in Qin and Han Dynasties, also participated in this special exhibition.

From 1982 to 2017, Chengdu Archaeological Team, together with Pujiang County Cultural Management Institute, discovered the coffin of the Warring States and 25 bronze seals in Shutu language of Cuba in the archaeological excavation of Heshan Street in our county.

These seals have different shapes and patterns, such as covered bucket-shaped king fish seal, weight-shaped round seal and flower-pedicled round seal. This kind of unique pattern is often found on the bronze weapons, tools and seals in the tombs and sites of the Warring States, Qin and Han Dynasties in Sichuan and Chongqing, and is called "Bashu symbol". Some scholars think that they are a self-contained image language, which is called "Bashu Tuyu", while others think that this Bashu symbol is an auspicious symbol with primitive witchcraft color, and a small part of it is a family emblem.

Some scholars believe that people at that time believed in the magical power of symbols, and thought that adding symbols to bronze weapons had the functions of enhancing the power of weapons, protecting soldiers and improving their combat confidence. Some of the Bashu symbols appearing on the seal are combined by different symbol contents, and the other part is a new symbol that has only been discovered once. From these phenomena, we can guess that seals are mostly "non-private" seals. After the communication between Shu and Han, the seal of Shu borrowed from the forms of "Tian" and "Ri" in Chinese characters, but the design was still dominated by Bashu symbols. Most of the borrowed Chinese characters are printed with auspicious warning words, so it is speculated that the symbols on the seal of Bashu symbols should be used as auspicious metaphors. If the living wear amulets, being buried in the tomb can protect the dead. From the analysis of these situations, it is likely that Bashu society has a set of stylized symbol systems, which are used according to different occasions. The unearthed coffin and bronze seal of Pujiang Warring States witnessed the long history of Pujiang, which is of great significance to sort out the context of human historical activities in Pujiang and even Chengdu Plain. At the same time, it also provides updated material evidence for the study of Bashu symbols.
