Among them, there are not only experts and scholars in Shanghai, but also Zhang Wei, then president of Tsinghua University, Professor Yang Jike, then vice governor of Anhui Province, and Dr. Yang Zhenning, a famous scholar. Some of them wrote suggestions to us directly, while others wrote letters to encourage us. After the manuscript was published, it was valued and adopted by leaders at all levels. 　　The development of scientific and technological consulting services by the Association for Science and Technology is generally in line with the national policy and the desire of the majority of scientific and technological personnel to make more contributions. However, it was in conflict with a set of practices implemented under the planned economy system at that time and some traditional concepts of people. At that time, it was considered that scientific and technical personnel used their spare time to provide services for foreign units, which was "doing nothing"; Others think that the technology of scientific and technological personnel is cultivated by the state, and they have already been paid, so they can't receive any extra remuneration. Therefore, many scientific and technological personnel have been criticized and punished for this.

　　In this regard, the Municipal Association for Science and Technology, with the support of the leaders of the Municipal Party Committee, has taken two measures: First, it has established a "Sunday Engineers' Association" to bring disorderly amateur and part-time activities into the formal; The second is to establish a legal advisory office to help the scientific and technological personnel who have been treated unfairly to seek justice. These two measures were warmly welcomed by scientific and technological personnel.

Due to the intervention of the legal adviser's office, a lot of investigation and research have been done, and communication with courts and procuratorates has made some cases finally handled fairly.

　　Because we resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of scientific and technological personnel, we have greatly enhanced the sense of belonging and cohesion of scientific and technological personnel to the Association for Science and Technology.

　　Concerned about scientific and technological personnel in many ways

　　When we started consulting services, the technicians posted their own fare and meal expenses. Learn to open an "outpatient clinic" on Sunday and go to the factory for "home visits". You have to pay for the bus fare and lunch. This was a big burden under the condition of low wages at that time. This situation can't last long. After the China Association for Science and Technology fought for the Ministry of Finance, it was agreed that each person could get a monthly salary below 30 yuan. Shanghai Association for Science and Technology also issued corresponding documents with the Municipal Finance Bureau to help scientific and technical personnel solve practical problems.

　　At that time, the scientific and technical personnel still had problems such as children's further education, health problems and housing problems, and we all tried our best to help. For example, every summer vacation, we hold review classes to attract their children to participate. We also often invite some medical experts to conduct free clinics for scientific and technical personnel. At that time, the comrades who worked in Baosteel's advisory Committee were responsive to any difficulties at home. Therefore, the consultants and the Association for Science and Technology are very close. When Baosteel encounters technical problems, as long as the Association for Science and Technology informs them, even if they live in the hospital, they will take time off to participate in the research, which is touching.

　　Because they have made friends, when passing through Huaihai Road, scientific and technical personnel will come to the consultation center or relevant societies to sit and chat. Inadvertently, they will tell their own difficulties; After hearing this, we all try our best to come up with some ideas or reflect them to relevant parties to help them solve their problems.

　　Recently, I am very happy to see many innovations in the work of the Association for Science and Technology. In particular, many platforms have been established to serve and play the role of scientific and technological personnel, such as the establishment of legal advisory committees and academician workstations.
