A Sheng: Cowhide of Literati (Essay)

Since ancient times, scholars have been arrogant and conceited, and they like to brag with others when they have nothing to do, showing their uniqueness.

I don't know what a foreign country paid tribute to a beast, but Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty made Dong Fangshuo identify it. He boasted that he knew him and said that he needed to eat enough. After eating, I begged for a reward, paved the way for a pair of who I am, and turned around the object in a serious way, looking left and right, and doing a lot of drama. It's called "Yi Ya" because it has the same teeth before and after, the same size and no big teeth. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was noncommittal with all the bureaucrats, and Dong Fangshuo got away with it. When he saw that there was no doubt, he went on to blow, saying that it predicted that someone from afar would come to surrender. A year later, sure enough, the Huns mixed with the evil king and brought people to the Han Dynasty. Cowhide blows to this point, and there is no one.

Xie Lingyun's cowhide blowing in the Eastern Jin Dynasty is the most artistic. He said, "There is only one stone for literary talent in the world, and Cao Zhicai is unparalleled in height, with eight unique fights. I have one fight, and the rest of the world share another." Borrowing Cao Zijian to raise his social status, and destroying a crowd, is really arrogant. This arrogant temperament, even the court can't stand it, and it was cut off by a knife.

Li Bai's poems and songs are exaggerated and arrogant, absolutely first. It is said that his swordsmanship is also good. He once boasted in "Chivalrous Man" that "ten steps kill one person, a thousand miles don't leave a line", just like the special effects lens in the martial arts film, if the body is flying, if it is floating, it will come and go without a trace, and the magical cowhide does block the shot.

During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Zaiyu, a scholar, wrote "Mountain Sheep Talk Big": "I love telling the truth all my life. I raise a chicken and beat others' horse prices; My mouse is as big as a fine dog; Cats that avoid rats are bigger than tigers; Wearing a pearl is as big as a watermelon; Through the hair pin, it looks like an ivory. My family has also raised a unicorn, and twelve unicorns have given birth to twenty-four war horses ... "Shen Yan loves to tell the truth, but he is serious and nonsense throughout. Such irony, making a fool of yourself, makes people laugh.

Wang Erlie, a talented scholar in the Qing Dynasty, was a native of Liaoyang. He boasted: "The article in the world belongs to Sanjiang, the article in Sanjiang belongs to Liaoyang, and the article in Liaoyang belongs to my brother. I will change the article for my brother." This kind of boasting method is similar to Xie Lingyun's cowhide, which is an exaggeration and boasting.

I dare not say that all literati love to brag, but there are indeed many people in the past dynasties, and they do not think it is immoral. Some people have raised this to a theoretical level.

Lu Yin, a female writer, once wrote "Bragging is an art that can't be underestimated", arguing that one should be able to brag well and know how to brag, and one can't show one's own value without bragging, and one can't shock fellow literati without bragging, and how to show one's superiority without bragging. She thinks: "Those who like color blow it with color, those who like profit blow it with profit, those who like fame eat it with name, and those who like power blow it with power. This so-called method of fighting poison with poison is all-encompassing." It also made a good footnote for the literati to be good at blowing and loving.

Overlooking the contemporary literary world, if you want to brag, you must first become a bull, otherwise where will you get the bull?

Liu Haisu, a painter, likes to pull a banner and make tiger skins, and he is proud of hanging out with big officials. He went to Japan to hold an art exhibition, and the foreign minister politely called him a teacher. When he came back, he boasted to the students that the Japanese foreign minister worshipped me as a teacher.

Writer Li Ao claimed that "Li Ao is the most comprehensive and intelligent person in China's history ... just one person in ancient and modern times. There is no way for a second person to write vernacular Chinese except Li Ao. "In the past 50 years and 500 years, the top three people in China are Li Ao, Li Ao and Li Ao." I have been arrogant all my life and I am proud of the Chinese literary world.

Yu Qiuyu's cultural prose is well written, leading the literary world to be coquettish for a while. A few years ago, he put up a brand in his studio: "Yu Qiuyu's master studio", which was listed as a "master", which was unprecedented.

Fan Ceng, a painter, boasts of being a great master in 500 years. He ranks his name with Qi Baishi, Pan Tianshou, Li Keran, Huang Binhong and Huang Zhou, and his cowhide is not small. Gao Xiaosong, who writes songs, is also an elite manner. He summed up his half life by saying that he was "the leader of literary youth and the leader of prodigal son" and now he is "pregnant and knowledgeable", which is both boasting and showing off, and he feels too ashamed.

No matter how cunning the fox is, he will show his tail, and no matter how eloquent he is, he is afraid of fulfilling the facts. Therefore, Lu Yin reminded: "Although boasting is great, you should also blow it well, otherwise, if you expose the peep show, there will be no drama to sing."

For example, Liu Haisu has a habit of boasting, which was refuted by Lu Xun in the 1930s. After entering the new society, I often say that I am old friends with Premier Zhou. However, Liu Haisu ranked sixth in the List of Cultural Traitors published by Chongqing Xinhua Daily hosted by Zhou Enlai on August 23, 1945. It can be seen that what is said is not cow force but cowhide.

In addition, Wen Huaisha boasts that he is an expert in Lu Xun's studies, a master of Chu Ci and a master of history, and he is also proficient in Redology, calligraphy and painting, epigraphy, traditional Chinese medicine, etc., as if he knows everything, which makes people go up in the mountains and has many followers. As a result, AARON Li, a writer, stripped off his pants and deciphered it, revealing his "absurd life" and "the emperor's new clothes" and losing his face.

Cowhide is very close to lies, no matter what the purpose, it is a bluff trick, and the cowhide of literati is no exception. Many "literati", wearing top hats of masters, painters, presidents, deans, founders, first people and so on, make up stories, play routines, ride brooms, cheat food, drink, cheat money and cheat color. Many people believe in this kind of words, pay a lot of tuition fees, and don't understand why, and they suffer losses and suffer.

As the saying goes: deceptive words sound good. The roots of the ears should not be too soft, let alone blindly worship the "masters". We should learn to explore the roots of true knowledge and use our eyes to see what they have done, so that we can naturally recognize the stuff in the gourd and uncover its skin.
