Sichuan Province's defense index: It is estimated that the average precipitation in the province in August is less than the same period of normal years.

On August 2, the reporter learned from the Sichuan Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters that recently, the Sichuan Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters organized departments such as information, water conservancy, meteorology and electric power to analyze and discuss the drought in August and the trend of water storage and supply in Sichuan Province.

In terms of rainfall trend, it is estimated that the average precipitation in August in the whole province is less than that in the same period of normal years, among which the precipitation in the west of Liangshan Prefecture, the east of Guangyuan, Ziyang, Zigong and Yibin, Panzhihua, Dazhou, Guang 'an, Bazhong, Nanchong, Suining and Luzhou is 1-20% more than that in the same period of normal years, and the precipitation in the rest of the province is 1-20% less. It is estimated that there will be four rainfall processes in August, including one in the first ten days, two in the middle and one in the last ten days. In terms of water regime trend, it is estimated that the inflow of major rivers in August is 1 ~ 30% less than that in the same period of many years, among which Yalong River, Dadu River and Qujiang River are close to normal, and the rest rivers are 1 ~ 40% less. In terms of drought trend, it is expected that the drought in some areas such as Neijiang, Mianyang, Leshan and Nanchong may recur in August, and there is a greater possibility of regional summer drought in some areas in the central, southern and northern parts of the basin. In terms of flood disaster trend, it is expected that there will be moderate-intensity flood disasters in the whole province in August, among which secondary disasters such as flash floods, landslides, collapses and mudslides may be caused by continuous rainfall or local heavy rainfall in the surrounding mountainous areas, Aba Prefecture, Ganzi Prefecture, Liangshan Prefecture and Panzhihua.

In the situation of water storage and supply of reservoir hydropower station, it is expected that the situation of water storage and supply will be good in August, and the water supply for power generation will be sufficient during the Universiade. However, the continuous high temperature that may occur in some periods in the middle and late period will obviously increase the power load, which is still the biggest pressure and challenge for power supply.
