Recently, Ningbo Yuyao Technology launched the "Fishing Eagle" APP, which is a fishing ground forecasting service platform to accurately locate fish stocks, meet the needs of fishermen's fishing production operations, and help fishermen increase production and income.
Fishery forecasting is a "stuck-neck" technology. Fishermen in China still retain the fishing tradition of searching for fishing grounds and fish schools in the boundless sea for thousands of years by relying on experience and luck. The challenges of high operating cost, poor economic benefits and low technical content have been puzzling the marine fisheries in China.
"Fishing Eagle" uses satellite remote sensing technology combined with big data and artificial intelligence to analyze near-real-time sea state data (wave height, wind speed, ocean current, chlorophyll, temperature, etc.), while escorting fishermen, accurately locate the fishing grounds of 5 nautical miles by 5 nautical miles, and analyze the fishing conditions of the fishing grounds to help fishermen solve a series of problems such as high risk, high cost and difficult fishing. At the same time, in terms of environmental protection, the "fishing eagle" will protect the habitats such as spawning grounds and larval growth places, and realize the sustainable development of farming, animal husbandry and fishing.
Yuyao Technology was established in 2021, and the team consists of many well-known experts in remote sensing and software engineering. Previously, it was invested by Qingdao Yongcheng Venture Capital Fund and Ningbo Angel Investment Fund respectively.
The forecast accuracy of "Fishing Eagle" for squid and tuna fishing grounds is about 76%, which is higher than that of similar products abroad by about 50%. The accurate fishery forecasting technology of "Fishing Eagle" can also prevent fishing boats from entering the habitat where fish spawn and larvae grow, which will effectively prevent overfishing and realize the sustainable development of fishery resources.
According to the feedback data, "Fishing Eagle" can help fishermen to increase their catch by more than 40% and reduce their operating costs by about 30%.
