Meditation and Zeng Guofan

  Recently, because of many troubles at work, I made up my mind to sit still again.

  I read the book "Observing Breath" which talks about Vipassana meditation a long time ago. In June, I found out two books I bought before, namely "Sitting for Health" and "Sitting for Cultivation and Immortality", and reviewed them.

  In June, I made up my mind to sit still for 30 minutes every day. Two months later, I didn't sit still several times.

  On Monday, I suddenly thought of Zeng Guofan's twelve daily classes. I have been implementing my improved version of the twelve daily classes through software, but it is also three days of fishing and two days of drying the net.

  Zeng Guofan was determined to change himself when he was 32 years old. When I was in my twenties, I saw his twelve daily lessons and Franklin's commandments and wanted to learn.

  After all these years, nothing has been achieved. Combining their self-cultivation methods, they have been revised many times and in many versions, and the final result is failure anyway.

  The only gain in these years is intermittent running.

  A few days ago, I suddenly realized that running is an exercise for my body. I run for an hour at least three times a week.

  Running intermittently still has a significant impact on my body, and I feel much more energetic than before, so I am not so sleepy.

  Meditation is an exercise for the brain, and you must also take time out to exercise every day. It is not enough to sit still for 30 minutes every day, but it must be one hour.

  These days, I have been sitting quietly for one hour.

  Although it only lasted for a few days, the harvest was still great.

  When I was sitting in meditation this morning, I did it according to the method of "Because I am sitting in health". I couldn't feel it when I breathed, and I exerted too much force.

  Still use the practice in "Watching Breath", only care about breathing, and don't think about the abdomen.

  Next, read the book "Tongmeng Zhiguan" by Tiantai Sect, and further study the Buddhist practice of Zhiguan.

  Reasoning, or resolutely study and implement Zeng Guofan's twelve daily classes, this buddy is really a fierce person after all, with Wang Yangming before and Zeng Guofan after.

  I'm in my thirties, so I don't want much success in this book. I hope to reduce my anxiety.
