After three days of disconnection, I received a message from Wang Pingzhen late at night: "People are fine, don't worry."

The Beijing News (Reporter Zhou Huaizong) At 11: 18 pm on August 2, the reporter received a message from Wangping Town, Mentougou, Beijing, "People are fine, don't worry." This is the first time that the reporter has received information within the lost range of Jingxi Mountain District since the information was interrupted by flash floods on July 31.

The reporter learned from Mentougou District that on the afternoon of August 2, Mentougou District organized 200 comprehensive rescue workers from the People's Liberation Army and Armed Police Force, fire rescue, medical institutions, transportation, communication and electric power to rush to Qingshui Town and Zhaitang Town in the westernmost mountainous area for rescue. Go all out to ensure the production and life of the people in the affected areas. The rescue team will start from Huailai, Hebei Province and detour into Qingshui Town and Zhaitang Town.

Mentougou District is located in the western mountain area of Jingxi Mountain and the remaining vein of Taihang Mountain. The mountainous area accounts for the vast majority, and Yongding River passes through the area, which is about 102 kilometers in Mentougou. There are also many rivers in the area. Among them, Yanchi Town, Zhaitang Town and Qingshui Town are located in the westernmost deep mountain area of Mentougou, while Wangping Town is located at the junction of deep mountain area and shallow mountain area. The four towns are surrounded by mountains and ravines, and most of the residents live on the hillside. Since July 31st, they have been cut off from the network.

Since July 31st, the Beijing News reporter has been trying to contact people in these four towns, but by the evening of August 2nd, many contact people's mobile phones were still turned off or "unable to connect". The last time I connected the phone was around 10 am on July 31.

It is reported that after the flash floods, communication in many areas of Mentougou was interrupted. At present, Miaofengshan Town, the front line of emergency rescue and disaster relief, has initially resumed communication, and all 17 villages under its jurisdiction have regained contact at 10 am on August 2. However, communication has not been restored in Wangping Town and Shenshan Town.

It is reported that Yanchi Town, one of the three towns in the deep mountains, has been reporting peace to the outside world through short video accounts. Since the early morning of August 2, Yanchi Town has continuously published a number of "Yanchi Town Newspapers" on short video accounts, and Qingbaikou Village, Fujiatai Village, Yangcun Village, Taizi Tomb Village, Matao Village, Dacun Village, Fangliang Village, Yubai Village, Yuejin Village, Shanshenmiao Village, Qinyu Village, Tianzhuang Village and Sijiashui Village are all safe.

At 5: 49 pm on August 2nd, Yanchi Town published the latest issue of "Yanchi Town Newspaper", adding four new villages: Weizishui Village, Songshu Village, Gaotai Village and Henan Taicun Village. At 11 o'clock on the evening of August 2, the reporter contacted the residents of Yanchi Town again, but the mobile phone was still in a state of "unable to connect". The reporter learned that in mountainous areas, signals can be received occasionally, but in general, residents can only go to the heights and call out, making it difficult to get in. According to public information, there are 23 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of Yan Chi, and 17 villages have reported peace at present. The "Yanchi Town Newspaper" also said that "there are still six villages left, and they are waiting to be updated at any time".

When the reporter contacted the residents of Zhaitang Town and Qingshui Town, he could not get through the phone. In the last contact on the morning of July 31, the reporter was informed that Zhaitang Town was actively preventing floods. On July 29, it completed the work of emergency evacuation of people in various villages, prepared beds and emergency food, drinking water and medicines, and continuously monitored risk areas such as rivers, densely populated areas and unstable slopes. Also on July 31, a resident of Qingshui Town told reporters that there had been floods in the mountains, and Qingshui River was flush with the road surface. The local authorities were investigating hidden dangers and publicizing flood control knowledge from village to village, and began to inspect rivers, valleys and villages 24 hours a day from July 30.

In addition to the three towns in the deep mountains, Wang Ping Town is also within the scope of losing contact. Wang Ping Town is located at the junction of the deep mountain area and the shallow mountain area in the west of Beijing. Since July 31, the reporter has not contacted the people in this area. At 11: 18 pm on August 2, the reporter received a message from Wang Ping Town that he was safe. "People are fine, don't worry." However, when the reporter called back the phone, he still showed "Unable to connect" after trying many times.
