On August 1st, Zhou Haibing, Vice Governor and Mayor of Changsha, investigated the planning and construction of the road network around Xiangjiang Science City. Xiangjiang Science City is located from Changzhi Expressway in the north, Baiyun Road, Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway and Jiuzhao East Road in the south, Huangqiao Avenue, Fulin Avenue and Xinghua Road in the west and Xiaoxiang Avenue in the east, with an area of 145.5 square kilometers. The rapid transformation of Tanzhou Avenue, the west extension line of Muping Bridge and the south extension line of Huangqiao Avenue are all important expressways serving Xiangjiang Science City. Among them, the rapid reconstruction project of Tanzhou Avenue is about 16.2 kilometers long, with a total investment of about 4.324 billion yuan and a planned road width of 75 meters. It is implemented in three sections. The first and second sections were completed and opened to traffic in June 2021, and the third section is in the stage of survey, design, recruitment and scheme research. At present, the backbone roads under construction in Xiangjiang Science City include Muping Bridge Hexi Link, Baiting Road, Baiyun Road East Extension-Bai Quan Avenue, and the road network in the first development area of Xiangjiang Science City.
On Tanzhou Avenue, Zhou Haibing listened to the report on the road network planning and construction around Xiangjiang Science City. He pointed out that the planning and construction of Xiangjiang Science City is a key move to realize the beautiful blueprint of "three highs and four innovations", undertakes a major mission of leading the construction of a global R&D center city, and is a pragmatic action to promote the development of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan metropolitan area. Traffic is the pulse of urban development, and it is also a booster for the development of the area.
