In view of the high incidence of new types of illegal crimes in telecommunications networks, the reporter talked to the anti-fraud center in Changjiang District and sorted out some recent cases of online fraud, reminding the public to be vigilant and beware of being cheated!
Case 1: Online Brush Fraud
On April 4, 2023, the Criminal Police Brigade of Changjiang Public Security Bureau received an alarm from the reporter Zhu, saying that he was cheated by nearly 60,000 yuan on the Internet. The police immediately carried out case investigation. Through investigation, it was learned that Zhu had received a message pushed by WeChat official account, and he could get cash-filled red envelopes by scanning the code into WeChat group. After joining the group, the WeChat group released the news that it could earn commission by completing the task of swiping the bill. The reporter transferred the money to the designated account several times according to the requirements of the group owner, with a loss of about 60,000 yuan.
The informant found out that he had been cheated after receiving an early warning call from the anti-fraud center. Through intelligence research, the police successfully determined the identity information and foothold of the suspect, and immediately went to Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province to carry out the arrest work, and successfully arrested the suspect Yu Moulong on April 6. After examination, the criminal suspect Yu Moulong confessed to the fact that he was suspected of "helping the letter".
Case 2: impersonating customer service fraud
"Hello, I'm the customer service of a certain securities company. Do you want to do stock trading? We have experienced stock consultants here. You can add our consultant's WeChat ..." In April 2023, the Interpol Brigade of Changjiang Public Security Bureau got an important clue in its work: someone provided "drainage" service for overseas telecom fraud groups on the grounds of guiding stock trading. The Interpol Brigade attached great importance to it. With the support of the relevant departments of the Municipal Bureau, it immediately conducted in-depth research and judgment, and soon a telecom fraud "drainage" gang hiding in an office building in the jurisdiction surfaced. On April 20, 2023, the Interpol Brigade joined forces with Xijiao Police Station and Jinghang Police Station to conduct a comprehensive operation and quickly attack, and successfully arrested six suspects, including Luo Mou and Li Demeo.
After the trial, six suspects confessed to the criminal facts suspected of telecommunication network fraud: from January this year, Luo Mou, Li Demeo and others were driven by interests to open a false network company, and after contacting overseas telecommunication fraud groups through illegal channels, they recruited telephone salesmen to pretend to be customer service of securities companies, providing "drainage" for criminal groups on the grounds of guiding stock trading and helping to implement fraud. Salesmen Tu Moumou, Dai Moumou, Jin Moumou and Wang Moumou know that the company is engaged in illegal and criminal activities, but they can't resist the temptation of quick money and high returns, and still participate in fraudulent phone calls. The gang made tens of thousands of fraudulent phone calls and made tens of thousands of illegal profits.
